FLORIDA ENGINEERING SOCIETY

Created by Engineers, to Represent Engineers.

FES Mission Statement

FES supports engineering education, advocates licensure, promotes the

ethical and competent practice of engineering and enhances the image

and well-being of all engineers in the state of Florida.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Year round educational seminars brought to you by an active Professional Development Committee and staff to ensure you meet the state mandated 8 hours of continuing education.  Classes offered on-line, via correspondence or at seminars held throughout the state.

LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATION

Direct access to legislative leaders to fight for you during the Florida session and in Washington, D.C.  Grassroots approach by members encourages you to get involved.

20 LOCAL CHAPTERS

FES is in your backyard with chapters meeting monthly, publishing newsletters, and getting involved in the community.  This offers a great setting to build your “bank account” of friends and colleagues for future gains and interest.  Five practice sections promote interaction from different disciplines – private practice, construction, industry, education, and government.

BUILDING FUTURE ENGINEERS

MATHCOUNTS, a middle school coaching and competition program, makes mathematics as challenging, exciting, and prestigious as sports programs.  The Florida Engineering Foundation’s mission is to promote and enhance engineering education in Florida.

PUBLICATIONS

Monthly FES Journal; Annual FES Directory; The U.S. Engineering Press Peer Review published by NSPE; FES EngiNews, bi-weekly business briefs sent by e-mail; Local chapter newsletters; Continuously updated FES website.

PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION

Governor’s New Product Awards; Engineer of the Year; Awards for Young Engineers; Outstanding Technical Achievements and Service to the Engineering Profession at chapter and state levels; various scholarships; FICE Engineering Excellence Awards recognize engineering achievements that demonstrate the highest degree of merit and ingenuity.
